About Laurie

Laurie Mucha is an experienced film festival producer, writer, and influential voice in the promotion of women's stories.

As the Co-founder of the Feminista Film Festival, she curated inspiring films about women and girls, hosting nearly a hundred screenings across the UK. She is currently the writer behind the popular newsletter I’ll Have What She’s Having, offering women of a certain age inspiring ideas, curated recommendations, and plenty of humor.

Laurie’s upcoming memoir PATHOLOGICALLY GRATEFUL: One Woman’s Spiritual Quest Through St. Lucia, Bali and France is a unique and timely narrative of personal transformation during menopause. This coming of (middle) age story will appeal to fans of Eat Pray Love and You Could Make This Place Beautiful and offers a fresh perspective on the transformative power of women.

Laurie currently lives in London, UK and Veyrier-du-Lac, France.

“Laurie Mucha's writing is my favorite blend of wit, insight, and truth telling reminiscent of the beloved style of Nora Ephron. With a keen eye for the nuances of self-discovery and messy, beautiful relationships, Mucha crafts personal stories that are both humorous and emotionally resonant. Her work captivates and regularly moves me to tears and laughter with incredible depth and authenticity. I am forever a fan!” - Lindsey Trout Hughes, Head of Programming, London Writers Salon

“Laurie is a delight to work with. Her positive energy is infectious and her passion in supporting female filmmakers shines through the work that she does. Laurie's got a real talent in being able to encourage others to action their ambitions and I'd love to work with her again.” - AmyLouise Godby, Senior Awards Manager, Sky UK
