Seattle Art Museum (and Links)

When’s the last time you were a tourist in your own city? I have a feeling our months in Seattle are numbered, so I’m trying to take full advantage of everything our region has to offer…. Today I visited one of my favorite places downtown - The Seattle Art Museum. The new exhibitions are super fun and colorful: Pop Departures (Warhol, Lichtenstein and the like) and City Dwellers (contemporary art from India).

And of course, a trip to SAM isn’t complete without a ladies lunch at TASTE. The sparkling rosé and seafood risotto were good, but the conversation was better. Thanks Anna! I almost didn’t notice the torrential rain outside…

Have a great weekend! Here’s how I procrastinated this week….

I used this great app as my museum guide. They also offer “stories” of other cities and museums.

Art makes you smarter.

Slowing down art appreciation.

Ooh, I love this: color thesaurus.

I fell down a rabbit hole and can’t find my way out. Fascinating, but addictive.

I’ve had just about enough of these $10 readers. I think it’s time to find a real pair of glasses.

On my wish list: this Pacific Northwest cookbook, written by Renee Erickson (of Boat Street bread pudding fame).

I just finished (and loved) The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Here’s the rest of my booklist.

And here are a few more photos from SAM...
